Collectiv Academy Assists Students in Obtaining Financial Aid

The cosmetology and hairdressing school in Salt Lake City is a Title IV participant, qualifying it to help students with grants and loans in pursuit of an education.

[Midvale, 04/11/2017] – Collectiv Academy knows the difficulty students face in paying for school. As a Title IV participant, the U.S. Department of Education recognizes the cosmetology and barbering school’s eligibility in helping students get government grants and loans.

Students can apply for financial aid to attend Collectiv Academy’s programs.

Financial Help from the Government

The school explains the qualification for financial aid, “Most students are eligible to receive financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college or career school. Your age, race, or field of study won’t affect your eligibility for federal student aid. While your income is taken into consideration, it does not automatically prevent you from getting federal student aid.”

Collectiv Academy lists down two programs for students to explore: Pell Grants and Stafford Loans.

The Federal Pell Grant Program offers “need-based grants” to students with low income. The school reveals that the grant does not require re-payment. Instead, it awards amounts according to determining factors, which include the following:

• Parental income (for dependent students)

• Student income (for independent students)

• Family household size

Students who qualify will receive up to $7,400 for the Academy’s full program.

The Stafford Loans, on the other hand, allow students and/or their parents to borrow money from the Department of Education’s loan programs. The loans are not credit-based; any student can qualify, regardless of their credit histories.

The government pays the interest on the loans while the student attends classes. Students do not have to pay dues until six months after graduation, Collectiv adds.

The school also recommends Mountain Academy Credit Union as a private financial aid option.

With its efforts to help students pay for school and its intensive, hands-on training, the school is in a good position to prepare students for success in the fashion or entertainment industry.

Collectiv Academy remarks, “We give our students the opportunity to develop their abilities and to become highly desirable beauty professionals.”
