They have been initially bred in America within the early 1990s from American Staffordshire Terriers and American Pit Bull Terriers to type a “family companion dog”.

It is believed that some other breeds might have been involved within the creation in the American Bully, probably the American Bulldog, English Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogge, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and French Bulldog.

The breed was produced in Virginia and Southern California inside a breeding project later renamed the American Bully Kennel Club, which is the official registry worldwide for American Bullys.

They’re described as giving the impression of wonderful strength for their medium/large size, using a muscular body and blocky head.
