Spend Your New Year’s Eve at Return to Paradise Resort & Spa

Last year the Return to Paradise Resort & Spa in Samoa was named by Booking.com as one of only 24 places around the world to celebrate New Years – the only property in their time zone. This is a marvellous achievement as the resort has only been open for just five months.

The Samoa Observer reported that, “From their worldwide listing of over 560,000 properties, Booking.com has searched its extensive list of accommodations around the globe to find one property that stands out in each of the 24 time zones of the world.

Business Development Manager, Mel Toalioa says, “As one of just 24 properties chosen worldwide out of over 560,000 hotels and resorts, this is a huge honour. This selection vindicates the hard work everyone has put in to make Return to Paradise a very special place.

Toalioa further adds, “This selection is huge not just for Return to Paradise, but also for Samoa. Return to Paradise Resort & Spa has been selected above well-known properties in Fiji, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, and Tahiti. In fact we are the only Pacific resort selected outside of Hawaii.

The newspaper further reports that “Return to Paradise Resort & Spa is now ranked alongside 23 other selected prestigious properties, including the Parkroyal (Sydney), Ritz Carlton (Moscow + Shanghai), MGM Grand (Las Vegas), Hilton (Niagara Falls), Belmond Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro),and the Waldorf Astoria (Edinburgh).

Return to Paradise Beach in Lefaga Samoa was named after the 1953 film starring Gary Cooper and Roberta Haynes, and Samoans have long regarded this beach as particularly special and it is nothing short of a spectacular beauty. It caught the attention of Hollywood location scouts who determined it to be the perfect setting for their film.

The beach then became an iconic symbol of Samoa, deemed so valuable that traditional landowning families divided it amongst themselves. This ensured that everyone had customary ownership and guardianship over a part of the beach, thus preserving it forever.
